(children are not allowed access during cooking periods)
We will do all messy activities/cooking/painting and so on, in this area, weather permitting all painting can be done in the garden area.
we also have a large marine aquarium in the kitchen, it's beautiful and the children love it!
We also eat all meals in here!
This is located upstairs which provides toilet facilities, all dangers have been removed, and is easily accessible for those children able to toilet on their own. i can provide a potty for those children who may need it, and help them to master this big mile stone, i also provide a clean towel for hand washing daily,
each child will have their own *wash kit* which will include their own face cloth and towel, for when we wash before and after meal, palying outside, or touching the animals.
This is the main play area, set up to ensure maxium play space, I keep most of the toys in here, which are accesiable for the children, to encourage freedom and choice, i also have a small table and chair set, for children to sit at to complete table top activities such as puzzles, the living room leads into the garden via patio doors, i do have a stair gate when required for smaller children to minimise risks.
The garden
This is an area i will be developing in the next year or so, i am building a vegetable plot with the children, we will be growing lots of yummy vegetables that we can then pick for our meals, such as tomatoes,potatoes, beans, carrots, peas, and we will be planting lots of flowers too, so i will need lots of children who don't mind a bit of mud to help me!
Sand/water/bikes/balls and many other toys are also available for all children to enjoy,
we have also just bought two guinea pigs, these are kept in a hutch in the garden, they are two females (i hope!) and are called Daisy and Dandelion, they are friendly and are getting a little braver when Imogen is around! of course the children love to play with them, and are encouraged to wash their hands after!
All toys have been and are checked regulary for any damage and are removed if needed, i provid toys for all ages, and am constantly updating and adding new ones.
